What Next?

Life throws us curveballs!. Almost all through a human’s life time we find ourselves asking the question “what is next”?

After High School

After a degree

After an internship

After a training

After a certification

After an academic qualification

After graduation

After the wedding

After a baby

After working at a job for a while

After the loss of a job

After retirement

After achieving a major milestone in your life

After completing a major project

After the loss of a loved one

When you have your back against the wall, under immense pressure, confusion, not knowing what to do! ……. The list goes on and on it is inexhaustible!

We all have found, and still find ourselves at major cross roads as we journey. In most cases we get confused. Some individuals even hate to hear the sentence “so what’s next” it drives them crazy, even sinks some into a certain kind of mood.

Some people deal with it by not talking about it or thinking about what is staring them in the face and resort to “denial” or building a fake world that does not exist around them, until “reality comes crashing down”.

When you find yourself in such a position the first thing to do is to be calm. Do not rush into what "seems” right. Just retreat into a quiet place to spend your alone time talking to God, and seeking what he wants for you. A Wise lady I know calls it "Tuning down the noise of the world, and increasing the volume of heaven"

Truth is he has the map of your life. He created you so he knows all your ways from “womb till tomb”

Here are some scriptures as regards what’s next which you can also confess and pray with:

Psalms 32:8 The LORD says, "I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.

Jeremiah 29:11- The LORD says "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."

Isaiah 43:2- The LORD says "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you."

Isaiah 55:8-9- The LORD says "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."

Proverbs 3:5- Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.

Proverbs 23:17-18- The LORD says "Let not your heart envy sinners, but continue in the fear of the LORD all the day. Surely there is a future, and your hope will not be cut off."

Matthew 6: 31-33-Therefore do not be anxious, saying, “What shall we eat?” or “What shall we drink?” or “What shall we wear?” For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Proverbs 16:3- Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.

Isaiah 26:3- You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.

Psalm 71: 1 In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.

God's Word is full of wise instructions on what is next . When you feel life's pressure weighing you down, pull up these scriptures. Pray and confess his words till they become flesh (till you see them come to pass.) . By His grace you would know what to do next.
